REGISTRATIONS

Season 2025

Player membership with EMJFC is on a seasonal basis. Whether you have played with the Knights previously, are joining our club for the first time or are transferring from another club, all players must complete the registration to play with the Knights in 2025.

If you have any issues with the registration process or need to change your email address associated with your PlayHQ account please reach out to 1800 PLAY AFL or email clubhelp@afl.com.au

If your child has played for another junior club previously you will require a transfer to play for the Knights.  The transfer window opens on February 1, 2024.  If you have any questions please contact our Registrar on info@eastmalvernknights.com.au

Registration Fees

In 2025 we will be offering an Early Bird registration fee of $325 per player (consisting of $267 EMJFC Registration Fee & $58 SMJFL Fee) until Sunday February 9, 2025.  On February 10, 2025 the registration fee will revert to the standard registration fee of  $350 per player (consisting of $292 EMJFC Registration Fee & $58 SMJFL Fee).  Sibling discounts will apply to both the early bird and standard registration fees.

Full payment of the registration fee is required before a player’s registration is accepted for team selection and before the player can participate in training and matches.

For information on refund policy please see the Registration Fee Policy on our policies page.

Registration Dates

Closing Date: Sunday, March 2 2025

If you are registering with the club for the first time, you will need to provide a proof of age document (eg. Birth Certificate) to confirm the age group in which your child will be playing. You can scan a copy of your document and email it to our Registrar at info@eastmalvernknights.com.au

It is recommended to register early to avoid disappointment as EMJFC may be forced to close off registrations for some age groups as they fill up.

Team Selection

Team selection will commence immediately following the close of registrations and is undertaken by our Football Department in consultation with Coaches.

Our philosophy is to ensure that players (and their parents) have an opportunity to make new friends in our local community and that each player achieves maximum football development in a fun and safe environment.

In that regard, for our Under 8 to Under 11 teams we are a community based Club, not a school based club. The Football Department aims to group players with fellow players from their school however this is not guaranteed. There is an option on the form to nominate one or two friends only that the player would like to be on a team with. Please note that this does not guarantee the players will be together and all teams will be selected in accordance with our Football Development Policy.

For Under 12 and upwards age groups, EMJFC will undertake our standard grading process.

Further information about our team selection process can be found in the EMJFC Football Development Policy at https://www.eastmalvernknights.com.au/policies

Player Age Group Requirements

It is important that players are registered in their correct age groups. Age groups are determined by the age that the child is as at January 1. For example, if the child is aged 9yo on January 1, 2025, s/he will play in Under 10 in the 2025 season.

Please note that our Under 8 and Under 9 age groups are mixed teams where boys and girls play together in these age groups.  However, the SMJFL have introduced a Under 8 Girls and Under 9 Girls age group.

Parent Volunteers

We rely on the generous support of our parent community for important roles with our teams, including Coach, Team Manager, Umpire and Trainer (First Aid). If you are interested in taking on a role in your child’s team, please select the relevant role in the “Parent/Guardian Assistance Area” field and we’ll be in touch.
